While we could worry about decoding this ageless scrypt .. I think there may be an easier way. There are a number of utilities on the internet that can show you midi messages to your system as they are recieved ... grab one of those and then hit the key in question and see what comes over. Is this becuase you are doing some programming, or just a midi learn for an existing program? And while we are on this subject .... does anyone know how to seperate midi devices? I currently have 4 connectoed to my computer .... unfortunetaly the M-Audio XSession midi mixer uses midi commands that are NoteOn commands, and some of the correspond to leys on my keyboard ... so if I write a program to use the midi commands coming from the mixer, then some of the keys on my leyboard end up triggering things ..... Since the M-Audio device is not programmable, I want to be able to specify ... when recieving midi msg "abc" ... FROM DEVICE XYZ ..... treat it as such and such command.
