I hopped up on the roof just before it started at 2130, f**king cold in the wind up there! Despite a little brain damage on the part of the Sony camcorder regarding exposure settings, I got it all the way through totality, before 7-year-old batteries lied to me, saying that there was more time than actually remained. Zoink, off went the thing. I got it zoomed in, though thanks to the exposure problem it looks a bit grainy, and I had to correct gamma to see the rusty color of the moon. All that has to be dealt with is the constant panning to fit in-frame, which one can adjust during later editing to make everything centered. Wrote a blueprint for a long piece while up there, puffing away and moving the camera, and occasionally speaking line-of-thought pseudo-poetry into the mic on the camcorder. There will be drums in this piece - and since my finger's much, much better (though not perfect, as I'm still getting used to not avoiding the use of it while playing), it shouldn't be too long before the new untitled piece is available in audio *and* video. :) From: "Per Boysen" <perboysen@gmail.com> > You Italians are so civilized! ;-) I was lucky to look at my watch > exactly right on time and ran out on the street in way too cold clothes > (snowy dark bright winter night) to have a peep at "the orange colored > moon" but it looked just the same as usual.
