Re: Hi - new here and looking for advice

I'm also new, so take what I have to suggest with a grain of salt, but
I want to be able to "give back" since so many people here have
already helped me out as a new person also with questions that must be
dumb. From the sounds of it, considering your budget, consider the
digitech jamman - there's a blemished one on musiciansfriend.com right
now for only $229 - cheaper than the rc-20, and it has a usb output
that you should be able to put directly into protools. I don't think
you can find cheaper for what you want (and if you do want it - get it
now, since blemished versions sell out quickly). It usually costs
$300, although you never know with "blemished" if there's something
wrong with it. But you do get 45 days to try it before you return it.
Alternately, the rc-2 is even cheaper, at $179, but you'd have to mic
an amp.

Someone else from this listserve suggesting getting an inexpensive
little mixer (behringer makes some for as low as $45) to plug in
several different instruments to plug into the looper, which sounds
like what you want to do.

As for an amp, if you want to plug in all those instruments and voice,
I'm guessing an inexpensive PA or something like that, rather than
running everything through a guitar amp. Again, Behringer makes cheap
ones.

Good luck!
