Yes, it was very _close_ to it - yet missed the goal.

That's what I'm doing with the RC-50. I'm short-circuiting the AUX-OUT to 
AUX-IN. When I want to mix-down/combine etc. two loops, I switch them from 
MAIN to AUX output (don't do both together, gives you fuzzy signal) and 
then do a Replace (or Record on fresh loop).

Yes, I'm also dreaming:
Just a simple guitar pedal with a USB + MIDI interface.
And the rest is up to your fantasy....
