You might look into Kantos.  It is a VST instrument that translates
any incoming audio (like voice) to a pitched synth output.  Lots and
lots of features for scales and voice, etc.  In fact, it has a number
of presets that demonstrate its ability to track a voice.  Very very
cool and powerful instrument.
