I like Rainers answer...
What I also think is that every person with a true innovative drive 
(musician, scientist, writer...) has only just very few really new ideas 
they contribute to the world.
They are usually expressed fresh & raw at a younger age, then refined & 
skillfully woven to mastery in the following years.
