All models have great latency rates as it seems ... i own an audiofire2 (for live, thanks to per's suggestion) and now  have gone with the audiofire12 for studio tasks.

The AudioFire card arrived today, and I hooked it up to the MacBook.
SMOKING! Wow, this is fast. This is the first time I've had a computer
setup where the latency wasn't annoying. It's fast even inside
Ableton. Thanks for the suggestions!
