Yeah I have a bit of history with the Dead.  When Brett died I was auditioned to be the new keyboardist and got a nice love letter from Cameron etc and thought I had the job.  Oops!  Didn't work out.  That's good because I don't really consider myself a keyboardist... although I do play. 

Plus I don't wanna die.  Their keyboardists seem to have some kind of spell over 'em or something.  

Then I wrote music for their last Chinese New YEars Show (with my ancient friend Jay Yarnall) at Oakland Auditorium I think it was.  that was fun. 

I'm really happy my life has gone the way it has.  I think if I'd gotten the gig it would have screwed me up.  

I really liked what Per, Rick and the other fellow were doing.
