OOOOppps!!!!!  Sorry for the last email I got distracted by a phone
call and hit the send button before I meant to, I was going to edit
out the original post so it wasn't so huge.

A couple of books that have great stories and observations and some
listening exercises are The Listening Book and The Musical Life both
by W A Mathieu.

Other books: Sound and Structure by John Paynter and Composing Music
by Willian Russo

Other thoughts I had were using PVC pipe to make instruments
including a didgeridoo using beeswax for the mouth piece. http://
www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Didgeridoo-out-of-PVC-Pipe

Experiment with drones and ostinato.

I'll probably think of more later.
