well, what do you do if the singer is totally out of tune? or a cimbal  
stand falls over in a silent part?

I made many beautiful shows with painters and crossfaded slides and  
manipulations on retro-projectors (better resolution than HD! :-) and  
boiling slides and projections on dancers and...

...it all depends on the flux of the improvisation! - and the talent  
of the painter ;-)

I stopped doing it because I realized that most people prefered to  
close their eyes and do their own trip along with the music, which I  
believe brings more evolution...
