Re: cello for airports, moved to terminal 1
We played at the Vancouver Airport about a year ago and it HAD to be one of the strangest gigs ever. People loved it, there was free beer - always a MAJOR plus for me - but the security etc was astoundingly George Orwell. I felt like I'd just landed from Baghdad with an Uzi T shirt on and matchbooks taped to my shoes.
Knock 'em out!!!

regarding my cello performance tomorrow at SFO:
i just found out that for various logistical reasons ( um, i heard the guy who runs the SFMOMA store in the int'l terminal DIDN'T LIKE MY MUSIC and wants to listen to the wind quintet), i've been moved. my performance will not be in the international terminal, instead it will be in terminal 1. on the mezzanine, with a lovely view of the security checkpoint. not quite so uplifting as the international terminal.
but there is still sushi nearby!
