Thanks, Joe--I trust you got the live looped album I sent to you a while back; I hope you found some if it useful. I must say that you have an interesting set of musical parameters upon which to build programs... I too agree that a forum board would be a massive improvement to this source of information. dave First, let me make clear that my radio show was about live looping generally. It was not confined to Mobius brand technology or limited by genre or instrumentation. I chose the name for the show several years ago when I first began to think that I might stir listener interest in looped music. That was long before I set about producing the show. Moebius Trips was, of course, a play upon the Mobius Strip; my spelling avoided trade mark issues. I made a broad appeal to the LD list initially and had a good response. And I also solicited individual members whose work I found interesting. But not all the promises were fulfilled. I had the same experience when I addressed individual loopers from time to time via their MySpace pages; some followed through, some did not. And yes, I was selective in what I solicited from performers and also later in what I played when I had recordings in hand. It should be noted I am not singling out loopers as unresponsive. I have similar results when I solicit Celtic music and Chapman Stick music, for example, for other programs. For sure I might have had an adequate stream of looped music if I had solicited the list more often. But the production and distribution of music in all genres these days is almost totally fragmented. Many performers choose not to produce and distribute their work with the help of established labels. And there are fewer labels. Broadcasters such as myself must now spend more time than is affordable on identifying and acquiring listenable self-produced recordings. With my range of musical interests - Celtic, Stick, looping, carousel, and silent movie accompaniment - I have a tough time staying abreast of what's new and worthy, even in these somewhat narrow markets. Joe. PS I shall be withdrawing from the LD list. It would be more useful, I think, if it could be organized as a topic-oriented forum rather than a general free-for-all mailing list. I had casually used Mobius but am by no means a seasoned user but I know several among us here are. Forgive me if I'm amiss but have you promo'd this need for material on this list a lot? I'd think you woudn't be able to keep them away frankly. It seems that running a series promoting certainly a wonderful product given freely to the world and then getting current input, seems a shame to kiss it goodbye. I may be speaking out of turn here, I'm sure other more serious users would respond. I would clearly like to have sent you some trax had I known though as said I felt my efforts with the software were more exploring and were done mostly on the violin which I was experimenting with earlier in the year. Samples are on the My Space <http://www.myspace.com/jimgoodinviolinelectro> page for what it's worth. Regardless maybe others will respond and your show will find a new door at some point if desired. Just thoughts here that may be as said out of turn. I enjoyed producing and presenting the show and sharing this music with my listeners. I am truly grateful to those members of Looper's Delight who supported the show by donating their recordings. Sadly, I could not acquire enough material to sustain my programming. Even with the additional music I purchased at my own expense, I could not achieve the variety and the consistency I believe necessary to keep a weekly show fresh and interesting.
