It's to be found under "Routing". I have found that the Audio Switcher also is good for swapping preset patches that contains MIDI software instruments (synth or sampler). The Audio Switcher listens for incoming MIDI Program Change and activates all following modules that is cabled to the tag associated with that Prg Ch number - all other modules are deactivated and completely taken off the CPU load. It's better to set up every synth patch as a separate instance in an "effect chain" cabled to one Audio Switcher tag than to use MIDI Program Change to swap presets in just one instance of the instrument. > Logic 8 Studio incl. Would a >2GB Macbook with the FW interface, so the "old" MacBook, and a Motu or >RME be ok? Might be a bit short of CPU. But that depends on how many parallel effect chains (called "Tracks" and "Bus" by Apple) you intend to run at the same time. I have a 2.2 MacBook and I only run one Track. No effect bus at all. I run this pre looper and loop the MainStage output in Mobius standalone looper (not the VST version of Mobius). This works fine with the MainStage buffer set to 128 samples. The most latency happens when I play an audio input (as for guitar, flute and sax) but when playing MIDI software instruments (from an EWI MIDI master controller) I feel no latency at all (guess that means just a few milliseconds). > Btw: which software loopers make a good combo with Main Stage or Bidule? Hard to tell because it depends on if you want to run the looper as a standalone version, if you want to run the looper as a hosted plug-in and if you want to run the looper as the sync master or slave. For each of these contexts there are also different workarounds etc etc. It also depends on what looping functions you want. SooperLooper and Mobius are the two most poular ones, but they are quite different. Try both and see what you like! If going for an AU plug-in looper slaved to MainStage only SooperLooper will work (if you don't want to put Mobius VST inside the Bidule AU plug-in as your workaround. I tried that and found that it works fine. But it's a bitch to set up because you won't see the looper's parameters as AU parmeters inside the host - only the Bidule AU plug-in's parameters that have names as "Parmeter 1", "Parameter 2" and vice versa) Greetings from Sweden Per Boysen - www.perboysen.com
