Hi folks inspired by the discussion on Per's Steppophonic, I've actually thought about this general approach to live looping: 1. Record an audio sample in a (simple) looper, set it on single shot via MIDI trigger (no continuous looping or no midi sync) 2. Use a keyboard/pad to trigger the loop via MIDI messages 3. Run a MIDI (!) loop in i.e. Ableton where you record/overdub these MIDI messages Based on this setup, you can run a dozen audio samples that you trigger via keys/pads. Besides the audio sample triggers - and this is the interesting part - you can also loop further MIDI commands in your Ableton MIDI loop. Example: LoopA... two... three... four LoopA+LoopB... two... three.. four... LoopA+LoopB... two... LoopB... four... ReverseA+LoopA+LoopB... two... LoopB... four... ReverseA+LoopA+octaveUpB+LoopB... two... LoopB... four... So, all the lines could be different scenes in Ableton that you could switch back and forth. And so on... You could integrate this approach of course also with "traditional" looping. Wonder if any of you have gone on a path like this? best regards Buzap -- Sensationsangebot verlängert: GMX FreeDSL - Telefonanschluss + DSL für nur 16,37 Euro/mtl.!* http://dsl.gmx.de/?ac=OM.AD.PD003K1308T4569a
