There are lots of computers working on their own without crashing.
Just look at a web hotel and server applications. I have myself set up
computers at exhibitions that have been running for weeks on a row.
Just make sure only the music application in the relevant setup is
automatically loaded when you boot up the box. I use the laptop not
much differently than I use the EDP, in essence never looking at the
screen and giving commands by MIDI foot pedals. If the box hangs, just
reboot it. I've done that to EDP and laptop many times, no big deal.

And BTW - you can have two Mac Minis!!! If one fucks up, just be cool
and throw it out the window and plug in next one ;-)) The show must
go on!

I would of course keep nice little screen and mini keyboard handy if I
need to tweak something on the mini. But I'm not sure it would be
needed on stage.
