no, it's not a feature.

The idea has been mentioned before, particularly Matthias sees it as a 
way to "fix" a Multiply that came out too long.
It's easy enough to accidentally create a loop 9 cycles long when
you wanted 8 cycles, and currently there's not a tidy way to recover 
from that.

So I'd imagine this *should* be a feature of the vst edp (loop5).
