Re: introducing myself :)

No. ;-P (to stay with the use of emoticons here)

No sweat. Frankly, I don't know about statistics with regard to the
entire looping community (not necessarily related to this list),
although I share your feeling that it has been expanding in recent
years. The fact that with the Boss RC-series, the Digitech Jamman and
the Line6 JM4 a lot of devices were introduced to the market that did
not target the "I got an engineering master's degree and like
Stockhausen" audience, but the more normal people, most probably
helped here, but this is always an inter-dependency. However, as I
remember, you also did a lot of marketing work for the Boss devices,
and I'd like to thank you for that. (And this coming from someone who
believes Boss' DD20 in delay mode is superior for looping than the
entire RC series *g*).
The activity on this mailing list, compared to the mentioned "three
years ago", has been growing by roughly 18% (based on an average of
December to March, witch March 2009 extrapolated assuming constant
message rate per day and using the bytes as reported by the LDarchive
as a metric) if anyone likes to know.

It's fine to see that the rudeness you perceived in some posts dealing
e.g. with your "most powerful looper" statements did in fact not upset
you, I'm sorry that I got that wrong. Still, I don't believe that we
(the "some" you are referring to) are taking stuff too seriously.
There is a big difference between taking something serious and not
having fun doing it. (And I happen to take music seriously and have
fun doing it and get happy from occasionaly inspiring others).

> sorry if you felt uncomfortable Rainer.. i make a loop for you :)

Offer accepted ;).

Like lots of other said: nice to have you aboard here. I'm sure you'll
find this a very educative, inspiring and entertaining resource -
sometimes getting sneezed at included *g*.

Best,

           Rainer
