RE: Firewire mystery question


FWIW, I fried a $300 motherboard on a camcorder due to a faulty
firewire cable, it can happen.  Now if I ever have problems
with a cable I take it out back and burn it to make sure
it doesn't get tossed in the box-o-cables and reused later.

sure, but if it was the old one that you tried first, and it had a short,
it could have fried your firewire card.
