can a DMX controller be used for MIDI?

been meaning to ask this question for awhile.... googling it now, but thought someone might have tackled this allready

i was wondering if you can use a DMX controller to control midi gear-

im looking for a small rack mount fader unit, and this perfectly fits my needs-

its got DMX out.... i could easily make an adapter to midi, but god only knows just how different the languages are-

any help for this noob would be appreciated
