Re: Sonuus G2M guitar to midi converter

Hi Steve,
the G2M is specifically designed for guitar, but there's no reason
you shouldn't try it on violin.
It works like an effect box, so you'd just have to send the
correct level of un-effected violin signal to the box somehow.
( I don't know the technical specs of the p/u on your electric
violin, but may be possible just to plug it straight in ).

The G2M only responds in the guitar's range of notes, so for a regular
violin only the bottom Two Octaves plus a Sixth would work.
(there's also an Octave+4th available below the regular violin range).

The G2M doesn't itself transpose the midi notes, so that would have
to be done in the sound producing module as needed.

I suspect it'll work better pizz than arco,
the only way to know for sure is to try it.
(as you're not that far away, you're welcome to drop
round and give it a go, and the G50 too, but I'll
have to give back the G2M to it's rightful owner
    fairly soon).
