No. Native Instruments authorizes your computer.

I rather prefer "dongle" though. I've recently started using an iLok
to keep my licenses safe and be able to quickly install everything on
any new laptop I may be forced to switch to by accident. The insurance
for the option to get a replacement iLok right away from any music
store "on the road" is only $30 a year.
