Re: Disc Shelf
Hey Sim!
I am the developer of the site and there is a contact e-mail in FAQ, but I guess I'll have to add a "Contact" link that would be more visible.
The Download Track feature actually does not work yet, so although it is there what it will really do is stream a tune in a separate window.
On the other hand, a feature to allow people to download tunes will be added and it will not be optional. In other words, if you are using Disc Shelf, be prepared to dive into reality of the digital world - files are easily copied. In fact, Firefox and Opera can easily download any flash content even without the download option.
However, I ask you to not think much of it. It would be a pity if you would choose not to use Disc Shelf because your files could be copied, since if it is the only reason, please consider the fact that any other site you go to will have the same vulnerability to copying. As a developer, I simply am aware that there is no way to prevent copying a file in a situation of an online playback, so instead I chose to make downloading easier. Actually, that came from many of the requests from both musicians who would like to deep-link their music and from listeners.
So, to underline the current situation once more, the Download This Track option does not really work now and easier downloading is not yet implemented anyway, but non-IE browsers can download the music even without it easily.

anybody here using this? lovely idea, but if you right-click on any of the tracks in a player, you can download them. is it possible to turn off this feature? there's no contact email addy on the site, so i can't speak to the developers. i'd love to use the site, but i don't want my mp3's to be downloaded for free...!
