new instruments for film work

hey,

 

i am producing a new world music record and will be composing for 2 new feature movies. i would like to buy new exciting, weird, texturally interesting instruments for film composing  and album production use. I bought an Iranian santoor last week and it is such a great instrument. Any suggestions and ideas about new instruments?

 

Also new suggestions for weird pedals and fx?
