Roland/Boss have always been more about the hype than the product.
It's pretty easy to spot that their products are spec'ed by a
marketing department (with very heavy handed help from the finance dept.).
No surprise to see them pretending they're the only act in town again.

On the other hand, can you blame them if people accept their posturing
as fact? after all they're only a business trying to make a profit in a
world where hype is an acceptable norm.

Let's face it, they *could* sponsor events that gave an equal opportunity
for people to see equipment made by other manufacturers in action.
...but then who would buy their overpriced products?
The extra funds they glean by putting cheap electrical components into
devices that claim "professional quality" are channelled towards making
people believe their over optimistic claims for those devices....
....it's clearly a very successful strategy.

...that's the thing with resonance...doesn't take much to set it
off and it goes on and on :-)
