Re: Jazz Electronica as a category label
I suppose that the recent project that Krispen Hartung and I did, "Dance
Music foe Inanimate Objects", pretty much falls into that category.
The CDs not out yet but Krispen has files to listen to at:

Some "Jazz Electronica" I can think of:
Flanger
Triosk
Kammerflimmer Kollectief
Jaga Jazzist
DJ Spooky's "Optometry" album
Roger Tubesound Ensemble (aka Atom Heart)
Dawid Szczesny
The Heliocentrics (more jazz hip-hop)
Madlib (certain aliases such as "Yesterday's New Quintet") (more jazz
hip-hop)
This was the stuff I could find that combined elements of jazz and
modern electronic "pop" music. There's lots of jazz with electronic
elements going way back.
I'm sure there's lots of stuff I'm missing even within the limits I set...
