Re: taking a Pedalboard full of pedals on the plane

yes my only fear is that they will lose my gear or most importantly my guitar, I don't know where I could borrow a sustainor equipped axe. I thought about shipping but I am checking suitcase and said axe as baggage.

I am going to call American Airlines and see if there might be room for a guitar in the cabin somewhere. Gaetano has said that they will possibly accommodate him if it's in a soft small case.

I am taking a very minimal setup so it will fit in a regular suitcase. may have to buy clothes when I arrive, although Gaetano has said he may have some sharp Italian dudes for me :)

I hardly like to leave my apartment so this will be an adventure for sure! I am looking forward to meeting many of you there.

peace out,

J

I have no idea, but.. apart from my laptop (cold dead hands and all that) Im checking everything... guitar... and er... suitcase... very very big suitcase, with er... lots and lots of socks in... I have smelly feet ok? I need socks!

In the old days, there were scary things called Carnets, that we used to have to do... complete lists of gear with serial numbers, just in case we sold the shit, just in case Im gonna bring a list with me.. but basicaly my theory is this... if they nab it and delay it, then I borrow gear and have lots of fun and some good stories... if not then.. all is well.

I dont think they will dismantle dismantle, but Im pretty sure they will poke about...

I have really pared down my pedal board and stuck the really necessary on a piece of wood, partly to save space, but also cos my cat pissed in my real pedal board, and that SURE is gonna attract the doggies!!

well people as im getting ready to fly ive decided to go the pedal route instead of laptop and FCB1010 since im just doing a 1/2" hour set.
Hsas anybody ever checked in a pedalboard with pedals, cables etc. at the airport? how safe is this?you think they will go through this stuff and dismantle it?
is there anything i can do so they dont mess evrrything up, like perhaps putting a list fo everything thats inside or do you have a wiser advice?
i know i could put all the pedals on my main case but since im checking it in i want to take advantage and fit as much weight as possible on the pedalboard and have room on my main bags,i just dont know how safe this would be.
thanx for your advice!
