I haven't had a chance to try one yet.  My guess is that the Axe-FX Ultra
is
very good competition for something like the PSA/Eclipse combo, but I'm
not sure
if you could/should try to compare it to the Harmonizer, especially the
H8000FW,
which is a full fledged studio effects unit including 5.1 capabilities.  I
bet the Axe-FX is real competition for the Line6 guys!  Funny, this all
takes me
back to the days when I *LUSTED* for an ART SGX...  LOL

Back when I could only afford one thing, those all-in-one units were the
answer
for me.  Now, I prefer separate components.  I'd rather be able to swap
out
parts of the chain for units that do one particular thing better than the
combo
units do.  For example, I love my H8000FW, but I still use a PCM for the
verbs...

[troll]Sadly, I think the typical audience wouldn't know the difference in
sound
quality, so for live performance I think you can get away with just about
any
gear.[/troll]  Discuss...

BTW, it looks like the Axe-Fx uses convolution, at least for its cabinet
models,
so instead of a cabinet IR, I wonder if you could use an IR from one of
the
Spirit Canyon Audio collections or likesuchas...?  Of course, SIR can do
the
same thing, and it's *free*...

Well, it will be sometime this year at least.  I don't have a separate
email
list.  I was planning to stick with using the Eventide forum...

I'll look at some of those patches and see how the algorithms are put
together.
If the Harmonizer lets me access the rack algorithms, then we should be
able to
customize them...
