Hi, I got a Macbook pro a couple months ago. This is my first mac after a lifetime of pc use and I have no regrets. Not only is this the best computer I've ever owned, like Per and Dennis mentioned I installed Windows 7 on it and continue to use windows software that I previously bought. You can also run windows software directly in os x using specialized software (with mixed results in my case). Losing old software wasn't much of an issue since almost everything is now available on both platforms and I had skipped a couple versions on my most used software and was due to spend on updates in any case. One complaint is the heat this thing is generating. It's usually fine for music, but when I use it for my graphical work (3d, photoshop, movie editing) it can get quite hot. I suspect this is because I got the 2.8ghz i7 while it was originally design for something else.
