does anyone really use Softstep?

I've programmed my Softstep and I could theoretically use it but I don't
feel confident - more often than not it happens that I miss a button when I
need to hit it in the right moment. Sometimes the buttons don't seem to
react but it is because I don't hit it in the right way. I wonder how
reliably this can be overcome by practice. Does anyone of you really use 
it,
having replaced your old pedal completely?
