Re: EH 2880

Hey Richard,
I have used it deeply for over 2 years now. Incredible looper, super organic feeling to it. No LCD screens or menus or anything... Pretty much feels like an analog mixer. I can pretty much answer any questions you have about the machine. (except midi sync stuff, not too much experience with it.)

The best part about this looper is the quality of the pitch/time shifting. You take it down 3 octaves and it sound sooo creamy... no sample rate crunchyness or strange artifacts. Just divine. Especially with metalic sounds like bells, a tiny bell turns out to sound like an EPIC gong. Love that effect. Thats my favorite part about the 2880.

Highly recommended loop machine. All 4 tracks are synced up at all times in normal mode with one mix down track. you can put it into a constant tempo mixdown mode (after putting it into stop mode) which allows you to change the pitch/speed of the 4 main tracks while leaving the stereo mixdown track at its original sample rate regardless of the location of the tempo slider... Another interesting feature, especially for percussionists. It allows for some more intricate and complex form compositions even though its a bit tricky sometimes.

Great machine though..

Recently I became aware of the Electro Harmonix 28880 MultiTrack Looper <http://www.ehx.com/products/2880>. Impressed with all the usable features put together in user friendly form. Even a well written and easy to understand manual. Have read the PDF manual and it seems well thought out.

Anyone out there have any experience with it?
