well, i tried. i know i've read posts that david torn has also worked w/ co's and begged them for something. he was supposed to be working
on something w/ zoom, but that
was a while ago...
i realize that co's bottom line is they put something out and it has to sell to a lot of people for them to keep making it. hence the success of boss dd series.
obviously that type of delay is successful for most folks. i guess i'm just sick of the static phrase samplers that is just tacked on to delays or multi-fx and they
can say: hey we have a 20 or 40 sec looper on it too...
my looping as of late has been w:
my digitech dl8 (which i probably still like the best-although i wish it varispeed instead of just the warp mangle)
eh smmh-which i think is a quirky device, i'm not a fan of the have to hold the button to activate loop stuff-hence my love of delays-you just turn the delay on
and PLAY! if you don't like it, you play more....i realize i'm in the minority. but the ability to varispeed and reverse it, is a bonus....and the reason why i actually like it still right now....
in thinking of when i had my eh 16 ddl-ri...i wish EH would just take the 30 sec of looping that the smmh has and make that a delay looper, you just turn it on like a delay, but instead of
the sliders of the 16 ddl, you have the knobs of the smmh. i do like the layout and feel of the smmh.
the other funny thing i've been thinking of getting out is my behringer tweakalizer---the thing i like about that-it has a BIG RECORD BUTTON...perfect for simpletons like me. and hey it has reverse, and the "pitch" thing sort of mimics varispeeding....it's not exact....
yes, i will admit-when i saw that boss' new RC series got rid of the reverse, i thought that was strange.
maybe my next letter should be to EH...begging them to make a 30 sec delay based looper! spending my whole summer emaling co's! ha!
