RE: Headphones monitors dead. New one?

I have both the basic K-240 and the K-240DF, both 600 ohms. Yes, they do take a high-voltage power amp to drive ( I usually use a small Crown amp (D30 or something like that) with a headphone jack) but I've tried many headphones and find these to be the closest to typical studio monitors when needing to mix with headphones. They seem to be very flat with no hyped regions. Also they are very comfortable. I haven't tried everything out there by any means but the 240's are the best I've found and they're my favorites. To each his own though.

Hmmm, I am not very fond of them because it is the model with 600 ohms impedance, they need power.
For the quality I cannot speak because they are the only pair of headphones monitors I had, so I cannot compare.
Do you have the old model too? I am not sure how to open them to check the cable.
