First off, let me say that I am thrilled by the
prospect of a Bill Walker solo release. Can't wait to hit that "Buy Now"
button.
As for your question; for me, the answer is easy: early
Michael Brook. Same deep sense of mystery and beauty. His debut solo album -
"Hybrid" was co-produced by himself, Eno and Lanois and is one of the most
important musical discoveries of my entire life. (First bought it on vinyl at
the local record shop because of those two co-production credits, the fact
that he was listed as playing "infinite guitar", and the album art.) The title
track still still brings me to a halt every time I listen to
it.
Congratulations on the impending release, Bill. I'm
going to head over to CD Baby right now, search on your name, and then start
hitting "Refresh" over and over.
