Why mess with a good thing? I’ve come around to that way of thinking after years of misadventures. I think computers are designed for the OS they ship with. You are good for a couple of upgrades, but after that things will likely slow down and there is the ongoing thing of programs not working with each new iteration. I learned the hard way, it is very difficult to go backwards. I tried that on an SSD I bought especially for that purpose and still couldn’t do it. I had to send the SSD to my tech guru and he installed the OS (whatever was before Mavericks).
