Henry Warwick is an artist, composer, writer, and associate professor in the RTA School of Media at Ryerson University in Toronto, and is a research fellow at the Infoscape Lab at Ryerson. He has a BFA in Visual Systems Studies from Rutgers University, an MFA from Goddard College in Interdisciplinary Art, and a PhD in Communications from the European Graduate School in Switzerland. Originally from Edison, New Jersey, he has lived in Washington, DC and San Francisco, CA. An active artist in a variety of media, his visual art work is on display in a variety of locations in California and his music can be downloaded at his website, kether.com or auricular.com. Since 2007, he has lived in Toronto with his family and cats. Henry’s latest musical excursions are the release of 2 CDs of his electronic music this summer, “Something Borrowed” and “Something Old + Something New”, and a North American Tour of “InC” a solo performance and interpretation of In C by Terry Riley, in honour of the 50th anniversary of that landmark composition. He designed the software for these InC performances, and it was written by Matt Ingalls. The software will be available for free download from Matt Ingalls’s website, http://sfsound.org/matt/, and the iTunes Music Store for use on the Apple iPad and Ipad Mini. Also, Henry has an online Radio Show called “Something Completely Different” which can be heard every Sunday and Tuesday night at 10PM at http://www.thescopeatryerson.ca. http://www.kether.com/ .. ALAN SONDHEIM . Alan Sondheim is a city-based new media artist, musician, writer, and performer concerned with issues of virtuality, and the stake that the real world has in the virtual. He has worked with his partner Azure Carter among others. Sondheim is interested in examining the grounds of the virtual and how the body is inhabited. He performs in virtual, real, and cross-over worlds; his virtual work is known for its highly complex and mobile architectures. He has used altered motion-capture technology extensively for examining and creating new lexicons of behavior. His current work is centered around notions of gamespace, 'edgespace' (the border areas of gamespace) and 'blankness,' projections around edgespace. He's been developing a theory of semiotic splatter / splatter semiotics, dealing with fast-forward literatures of twitter, politics, 4chan, facebook, etc. His writing stems out of codework, a problematic style in which code substrates and surface content interfere with each other - in which, in other words, the textual body and body of text are deeply entangled. His current music is based on the impossibility of time reversal, on fast improvisation, and anti-gestural approaches to playing. His most recent work is this short biography. http://www.alansondheim.org/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - COMiNG SOON: THE PiNG: . WEDNESDAY APRIL 11TH 2018 .
