I use a Headrush (and occasionally two in series) live, looping my voice (with a nutso array of vocal techniques and beatboxing) and brass. My favorite trick at the moment is holding a note (or whistle) and flapping the mic away from my face as soon as I hit record, giving a decay with LFO. Layering such sounds can sound like bells, rhodes piano or poxy old synths... hours of fun! There's cute maths game loop on my website you might like the check out. Over a 2 bar loop, going up a major scale, four notes on each scale degree, separated by 3, then 5, then 7, then 9 16ths.
