|This is influenced by thousands of years of human culture, but most primarily musical and technological works conceived in the last four centuries, and most especially the period of human history wherein electricity aided the development of radical new approaches to musical expression. In the context of my material I appreciate and admire the works and ideas of Richard D. James (Aphex Twin), the Grateful Dead, Bryn Jones (Muslimgauze), John Cage, Tom Jenkinson (Squarepusher), ragas, gamelan, and myriad loop-based dance styles.
|It is many things, but taken collectively I attempt to explore technical strategies, and be expressive by those means as much as possible. I attempt quite often to produce my music by improvisational means, in an effort to develop the ability to reproduce or expand upon what I am thinking about as quickly as possible. When I listen to music I want to think, so at its most successful my music seeks to guide thinking deeper by experiencing it as though moving through a temporal architecture.
Mostly, though, I just want to have fun playing with sound.
