Try tuning at first CGDAEE( strings 1 & 2 are in unison).
Then slowly bring it up in half step increments. Each of the tunings:
CGDAEE
CGDAEF
CGDAEF#
& CGDAEG are lot of fun and the 1st string will tend not to break if
you
don't go strait to the G.
Also try a gauge .8 or .9.
