Best wishes,

Well, this is sort of off topic. But, I was gratified to discover today something
that I find no less than absoultely amazing.

A year ago (or maybe two) I responded to a call for written comments from some
lobbying group (I think it was Common Cause or something like it) that had
e-mailed me (and gazillions of others) regarding some upcoming meetings
that were going to be held in Washington D.C. to review the issue of "localism"
(local programming control and broadcast content) as affected by the FCC's
continuing deregulation (and continuing centralization) of the radio airwaves.

How often does someone ask your opinion and you really feel like they really
mean it and believe you have something to say? Not very often if you're like me.
Well, as it turns out my comments were some of the few selected to be published
in a paper that was eventually submitted before the FCC (whatever the heck
THAT means). It may not mean much. I may accomplish exactly diddly squat.
But, I feel kinda proud that my simple little comments got forwarded on to
somebody -- even if it winds up in somebody's trash can. I got heard. Somebody,
somewhere read it after all.

You can view the 28 page PDF here:

My little insignificant blurb is on page 9. I may be nuts, but I'm kinda proud.

Striking a blow against the empire . .
