The Looperlative is made with brand new technology, and is freely upgradeable when Bob can get the upgrades out in response to user requests. I'd say that's a whole other notion. With the Echoplex, you get years and years of development that has formed the software to the place it is now at (with a pretty incredible set of features, I think). With the LP1 you're buying into a start-up, one with on-going support and development. Different products for different needs. If you'd only be prepared to buy one for $599, that's your choice, but I think you're going to have a very long wait....
