You can do that Per...you are just talking about a new package. This is
not
a new idea. It's done all of the time with other technology. Thousands of
people buy packaged up systems every day, with or without education
bundled
up....they may not be for looping, but they do involve components that
people don't wan to hunt down and configure themselves, or where they do
or
do not want to be taught how to use the system.
So, to build on that basic system...remember, it was a basic system, you
could add an education component, which is my line of work. I would add a
series of virtual classroom sessions that show how to use the software,
such
as Mobius, etc. Or I suppose a face-to-face workshop could be part of the
package. All this would have to be priced out and ROI demonstrated. Again,
nothing new here.
I'm not about to convey an entire marketing plan for this over email, but
I
know it can be done, only because it is being done in other areas of
technology, and the user need is similar. It may not make millions, but
I'm
confident that some folks would buy a package, because there is power in
convenience. For instance, people buy package home entertainment systems,
which they could just as well go out and buy themselves but piecemeal one
component at time, but they choose the packages. You can buy them like
this,
unconfigured, or you can pay to have someone come to your home and setup
it
up and train you. It depends on the user need, the value of the service,
good pricing vs. value, etc. The same with systems that include a desktop
computer, printer, scanner, etc. You can buy systems together,
unconfigured,
or pay someone to do it on site or at your home. A poor marketing plan
would only include the package that includes a technician setting it up at
the user's home, teaching them, etc...that completely blows off a huge
target market that wants the convenience of buying a system, but has the
expertise to configure it themselves. It doesn't cost anything more to
offer
this more basic package.
