Ableton live/trigger finger probs

Anyone out there who can fathom this prob??

Ive got an maudio trigger finger and ableton live 6. I want to setup
my TF to trigger drum sounds, scenes and hopefully to get my
livelooping setup in ableton ALA kid beyond although with drums and
percussion.

I am very new to this and this happens to be the topic of an honours
research essay.

I have gotten a signal coming through from the trigger finger and
started triggering impulse rather easily although after about 30secs
or so the connection is lost and I no longer recieve any midi signal
from the trigger finger. I have tried reloading Ableton and turning
the TF on/Off but to no avail. I am rather stumped. What could be the
problem.

Really need more than 30secs of connnection time to start this project
