Hi Anders - I loved Mercury Snake Blues and Bridge Blues - very tasty playing.  Are you doing this stuff at live gigs too?  We are thinking along the same lines, though I'm just groping my way forward as an absolute beginner to looping - I agree with what you say about "backings" but for me it's a way into the whole looping thing and hopefully just the beginning.  Have you come across this Ash Grunwald guy recommended by Luis - I think he's quite something - check out his version of Crossroads on Youtube:

I don't have any examples of what you are after. I'm more of a rock/blues bases player myself, so naturally my looping experiments reflect that. What I HOPE to be able to do is to channel some of the repetitive patterns of delta and Chicago blues to my looping style. Create riff based loops and play Hound Dog Taylor style RAW guitar.. sort of channel the rhythms of delta blues through looping... I have a long way to go before I will be able to do that. But FOR ME that is much more interesting than trying to create "backings" to solo and sing over. I would more like the loop and the live playing to be one big blues riff moving along. Like 15 minutes of mannish boy..
