You don't really need to worry about using Sharpies on commercial CDs (ones
pressed), the problem as described is with CD-R media. OTOH, I've used 
Sharpies
on CDRs for quite awhiel and haven't ever had a problem, even on the 
cheapest of
bad media. Of course, I'm not counting on keeping 'em, so if they go bad I 
don't
really care.
