RE: Plogue VST Host and Controlling Presets/VST via the notebook keyboard

> Hi Kris,

OS
X version it's inside the application folder, in a folder named "help".

Tried that...it doesn't provide enough details on how to use the
keystroke bidule. I'm going to exchange some email with Mathias, who
seems to have this Bidule thing down. I sent him a basic layout file. I
am gathering that by inserting and connecting the keystroke and audio
switcher bidules in some fashion, this can be accomplished.

> Another method that many laptop musician use, opposed to calling up
plug-in settings by midi program change, is to open many instances of
the plugin on the same audi channel of the host application. Then map
computer keyboard buttons or foot pedal buttons to mute or un-mute the
plug-ins. Each instance of the plug-in should of course be pre-loaded
with a unique patch setting.

This would work, but would be extremely processor straining. One thing I
like about Bidule is that you can truly bipass (vs. mute) a vst plugin
so that it doesn't hog processing power. But essentially, I'm trying to
do what you describe above, but bipassing the plugin with the keyboard
rather than muting it. So you have the right idea here.

> Over here I like using Live 4 as the host application. Live has a good

system of mapping any incoming midi (AND computer keyboard button
stroke) to both its own parameters as well as any parameter of a
plug-in. Check the Bidule manual to see if it has something similar!

It does...I'm just not experienced enough with Bidule to understand how
to do it yet! :)

> BTW, I have noticed that every time I answer one of your LD posts, the

mail is sent to your private address. If you don't like it that way you
may change this in your e-mail client settings for "auto reply to".

I can't figure out how to chance this. I found no such setting on my
internet provider site under email settings. I am using MS Outlook for
email, and I did not find this setting in that program either. I'll keep
on looing. One thing that others can do is to reply to all, then they
should see both my email and looper's delight...maybe.
