Re: just out of reach

It's a poor man who blames his tools... or lack there
of When I was broke I make nice loops on a used
Digitech 8 sec pedal... but mostly I had to scramble
to make rent. I play a LOT more now that I ditched
the idea of using music as a means to feed myself.
I'm doing decently for the first time in my life and
the only thing that I find IS a setback is having too
many choices with what to make music with. Having
limits can be a good thing, but you don't need to be
broke.

Frankly a lot of the full time original (not cover
bands) musicians I knew who were surviving had some
sort of invisable means of support like a trust fund,
day job or mate/parent moochage situation that allowed
them to have a place to live and lots of time to
practice... at least that's how they started.

My response to you is, "get a day job" and spend as
much of your time away from it making music and don't
get fooled by the latest greatest. There are tons of
ebay bargains out there that will make wonderful
sounds until you're getting your big advance from your
record company.
