Slimming down the digests

Twisted panties alert!!! If you are already turning red in the face
from the horrors of
daily life, please take a moment to untwist your panties several turns
before reading this...

As per the recent requests to make the digests come out on a daily
basis, Kim politely
suggested that people NOT use HTML in their posts, and to trim posts
according to need. This last
post took up a whole digest. Timothy Mungenast responding with one line
and quoting an entire
post by Ted Killian, whose HTML posts usually have more in the footer than
in the topic under
discussion (except this time). Kris Hartung now adds pictures to his
email with his latest album
cover. While this is all well and good for people who are receiving
individual emails, it's not
really that appropriate for a mailing list. Then there is the occassional
HTML which makes the
entire digest extremely small and impossible to read without going into my
browser preferences and
enlarging the text.

Myself, I don't care that much whether I get the digests several per
day or one per day, it's
all the same amount of information to go through. At the same time, I've
seen this discussion
come up several times and only one person (that I've noticed) has bothered
to turn off their HTML
within their email program. I don't mean to single anyone out (even
though I am), it's an issue
that has plagued this list for some time. End of twisted panties alert...

Thanks for making efforts to keep this list manageable,

         Stephen
