Sorry to bring up such an every-day name on such an esoteric mailing list. George Michael, on his first solo tour, had huge displays of numbers counting up throughout the show, on either side of the stage. It was actualy the timecode readout from the synchroniser that ran the tape machine (for backing vocals and other acoustic instruments) and the two MC-50 sequencers (for everything else). Yes he had a full band on stage, but they were hired to look good. And this was the late 80s. At least he sang live, unlike Jacko. He had the MIDI score rolling by on the screen as his sequencers were pumping out the canned-sounding music. While I found it interesting to watch in an intellectual sort of way, it totally took away from the music being played. Stephen __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
