OT : viol guitar

hi,
 
i will be in USA in march, in california and NY.
 
i plan to buy a togaman violguitar ( electric model ) handmade in LA. i plan to use this new instrument on future ECM recordings and such. has anyone played this instrument? what are your thoughts about it? here is the link for it.
 
 
also would you recommend any other violguitar models, brands that i should check out before i make my final decision about which one to buy? i can pay as much as 4000$.
