They are great for mixing.  I'm much more willing to experiment with mixes now using them as a hardware controller - more intuitive and fun.  For editing and recording, I prefer the keyboard and mouse still.

My only gripe is that I can't seem to get the "Control Room" knob to talk to my Apogee Ensemble in Logic.
